Fabric Inspector (Fixed Term Contract)

Description

XCL Group are working alongside an expanding company who are looking for people to join them at a large manufacturing site in West Yorkshire. This opportunity is a fixed term contract of just 6 months, but you would be a key part of the manufacturing department.

The main purpose of the role would be to recover, inspect and then report on fabric which has been rejected due to fabric faults.

Other key Tasks and Accountabilities:

To identify any remaining faults in the fabric
To record number of faults on the computer system and make an allowance on final length to the customer
Understand and follow the company’s internal tagging procedure
Create new pieces on the system based on optimised cutting of quarantine pieces
Input information onto the scrap report to allow accurate reporting of faults and costs
Manage housekeeping so it is clean and tidy at all times
Complete stock-taking of quarantine locations and update system to ensure accuracy
To follow all H&S instruction and work in a safe manor
Report near misses as appropriate
Such other duties which are required and are reasonable

Knowledge and aptitudes required:

Experience of identifying fabric faults
Experience of fabric warehouse and stock control
Licence to drive FLT or picker truck would be an advantage
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Experience of woven textiles, fabric finishes and treatments

Patience to deal with repetitive workloads
Good time management with an organised and methodical approach
Driven with the ability to handle pressure
Confident, professional, and courteous, when dealing with internal and external customers, or suppliers
Self-motivation and focused

Hours:

Monday - Friday
6am - 2pm
